With its quad-turbo W16 pumping out over 1000 horsepower and reaching speeds in excess of 250 mph, surpassing the Bugatti Veyron is no mean feat. Many have tried, but few have succeeded. Yet that is exactly what Bugatti's own engineers will have to achieve when it comes time to replace the Veyron with its successor.

Bugatti’s Veyron is the stuff of legend with over 1,001hp (746kW) and a stint as the world’s fastest production car. It has since been dethroned by SSC’s Ultimate Aero TT, but as a luxury supercar, the Veyron remains without equal. For ten members of Australia’s Supercar Club, the chance to sample the king of road cars will come in the form of a shared ownership plan that costs just AUD$179,000 (approximately US$169,000) and another AUD$9,000 (US$8,500) each year in maintenance fees.

The next season of our favorite show in the world, Top Gear, is just around the corner and Executive Producer Andy Wilman today gave us an idea of what to expect for series 11. Clarkson, Hammond and May will go to war with the German version of Top Gear with a very exciting race between the ‘RS6 against the most suicidal of skiers.’ The Top Gear crew will also put the new Mitsubishi Evo X against the new Impreza, get behind the wheel of the Mercedes-Benz CLK Black Series and may even get to drive the Mazda Furai concept.

The Bugatti Veyron might be automotive nobility, but this latest version has got black rather than blue blood. The Veyron Sang Noir (which means black blood in French) is the latest limited-edition model from the Volkswagen-owned supercar maker.

A darker, evil-er Bugatti Veyron has been born to run alongside the Pur Sang: the Sang Noir. Word is the newest variant has been created to be a tip of the hat -- that would be "chapeau!" in French -- to the Bugatti Atlantique 57S.

Exterior styling blends an all-black colour palette with raw carbon-fibre panels and blacked-out headlamps whilst aluminium highlights are added to the grille surround and side mirrors.

Usually when automakers look to increase production they do it by thousands of units. Well exclusive and prestigious automakers like Bugatti work differently. Volkswagen owned Bugatti is looking to boost production of the Veyron super car by 5 units this year. An executive at Volkswagen Group said that Bugatti is looking to increase production from 85 this year to 90 units.

It’s the ultimate fashion accessory! If a standard Veyron is a little too common for you, how about one designed by the exclusive French couture house of Hermès? Although the quad-turbo W16 engine remains untouched, the difference is in the detail. On the bonnet of the two-tone body, the Parisian label’s designer Gabriele Pezzini has introduced a new beige shade, which matches the leather-trimmed cabin.

Congratulations, and a toast with a pair of champagne glasses, to Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. for selling 220 of their ultra-exotic Veyron 16.4 models. With 132 examples sitting safely in customer garages worldwide (except for this one...doh!), and 88 more on firm order, Bugatti is moving closer to the end of its reported 300-car production run.

On Memorial Day weekend in 2008, General Motors is taking their ethanol promotional campaign to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. For the tenth time, a Chevrolet Corvette will be leading the racers around the track for the Indy 500. This time around, however, the 'Vette won't have only gasoline in the tank. Instead, the bright green car will be running on E85. The ethanol-fueled Corvette Z06 pace car will be driven on race day by two-time World Champion and two-time Indy 500 champ Emerson Fittipaldi.
