If you're buying an Escalade, there's a good chance that even the Platinum Edition ESV won't be enough for you. That's why companies like Becker and STRUT exist, so that you can shine like one of the brightest stars in the multiverse. When these two companies get together on something... well, you'll probably need tinted goggles to behold it.

Despite reports from Top Gear claiming the CTS’s brawny force-fed brother - the CTS-V - won’t be sold in Europe, a rival publication has word from a senior GM official that the high-performance saloon will make it to Europe in left-hand-only drive and will even be sold in the UK.

D3 Research and Design likens itself to such notable German tuning houses as Brabus and Dinan, but instead of amping-up Benzes or BMWs, it works over Cadillacs. The Signal Hill, California-based company started out about 10 years ago doing various special projects, such as demo cars, for General Motors. After completing a Cadillac project around three years ago, D3 decided to run a pilot program to find out if there was a market out there for a dedicated Cadillac tuner by modifying an STS.

The Nurburgring-record-setting silver 2009 Cadillac CTS-V is now making its way across the country on a barnstorming tour of sorts. Its latest appearance was at an enthusiast event at the Auto Club/California Speedway in Fontana, Calif., put on by Cadillac tuner D3 Research & Development. Yours truly managed to sneak a few ride-along laps in the 7 minute 59.32 second Caddy.

Chrysler LLC chief Bob Nardelli is back to work after being laid up with a bad back the past couple of weeks, and here we didn't even know he was hurt. Some bloggers we are. Nardelli's injury didn't require surgery, and the Chrysler CEO worked from home while getting the rest needed to tend to Chrysler's turnaround plan. A Chrysler spokesperson didn't disclose how the injury occurred, but we're guessing the massive weight of the Pentastar's problems would be a hefty strain on anyone's back.

We thought Bentley's announcement earlier today that it's adding a Speed model to the Continental Flying Spur lineup was exciting news for sedan fans. After all, a 600bhp saloon that can hit 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and reach 200 MPH is pretty exciting, no? Not really when compared to Cadillac's news that the 2009 CTS-V will officially be rated at 556 horsepower, hit 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and run the quarter mile in 12 seconds flat. No offense to Bentley, but a sub-3-second sedan is about as exciting as it can get on a Monday.

We've seen the 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon but that was masked up with black camo as it was being tested on the road . Now we've got some un-camoed pictures of the newest member to the 2010 CTS family as it's apparently being tested online for opinions. The CTS family already includes the sedan and the 2010 CTS Coupe, and with this new Wagon der Sport, it'll be a threesome.

Auto Express can reveal Cadillac’s upcoming CTS-V has recorded a blistering lap of 7:59.32 while undergoing final testing at the Nurburgring. The time is the fastest ever publicly documented by a production Saloon around the circuit.
Cadillac has since confirmed "the record-breaking time was completed with no performance modifications outside of those planned for consumer production".

It doesn’t look that desirable at the moment, but under the black cladding of this prototype is the new CTS Coupé – the car Cadillac says will attract buyers away from Audi’s A5! It debuted as a concept at January’s Detroit Motor Show, and the production version will feature similar razor-edged lines, tall haunches, a stocky rump and a gaping square grille.

The Corvette-based XLR was supposed to be Cadillac’s flagship. So how come we’d rather have the new CTS-V, and why did Eli choose the upcoming Escalade Hybrid as his Super Bowl MVP prize? If the rumors are to be believed, Cadillac hopes to correct that with an updated version of the top-of-the-line roadster this summer.

The new Cadillac CTS Coupé was one of the biggest surprises of the recent Detroit Motor Show for two reasons. Not only was the unveiling totally unexpected, but the stylish US machine was fitted with a six-cylinder 2.9-litre turbodiesel engine delivering 247bhp. Oil-burners aren’t popular in the American market, so Cadillac’s decision is clearly an attempt to improve its green image with petrol-loving buyers Stateside. But the move is also designed to ensure that the model will appeal to European customers.Although the coupé is based on the CTS, it shares only its headlamps, front bumper and grille with the saloon. Other than this, every body panel has been changed. The new car gets a more sporty profile, a steeper raked windscreen and lower suspension.
