It’s no secret that Hyundai’s SEMA booth in Las Vegas this November will host a variety of modified Genesis Coupes. One of the vehicles that will make its appearance at the show will be the “Art of Speed” Genesis Coupe. Co-developed with Rhys Millen Racing (RMR), the “Art of Speed” will be powered by a 2.0-liter engine with an RMR turbo kit.

Hyundai held a special event recently where it invited a total of 20 different aftermarket performance tuners to measure up the new 2010 Genesis Coupe at the carmaker’s North American headquarters in Fountain Valley, California. The event gives the tuners a chance to research the car and gather data to start developing a range of performance accessories before the car even goes into production.

First shown at the Geneva show this year, the Hyundai i-Blue line of efficiency-focused cars will get a new entrant, and a whole range to follow, with the debut of the i30 at the London Motor Show. The car shown at Geneva in March was an i10 powered by compressed natural gas.

From an 11th place ranking in 1999, the Hyundai-Kia conglomerate has risen to become the fifth largest car manufacturer in the world.

According to Automotive News, the 2008 Global Data Book shows that the group has sold 3,961,629 cars, and now has risen above the likes of Honda, Nissan, and the PSA group.

Korean carmaker Hyundai is considering introducing a station wagon vrsion of its very successful i30 small car into the Australian market in the near future. Hyundai product planning manager Ben Hershman, said the company was looking at just what spec and trim levels it would bring the i30CW in and indicated that the two we looked at, a cloth trim base model and a luxury trim leather model were both likely to be selected.

We were ‘okay’ with Hyundai comparing the 2009 Genesis sedan to a BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Lexus. We even let that whole Rolls-Royce and Lexicon sound system comparison thing slide.
