It's only been a few months into its U.S. market introduction and Kia is already rolling out special editions of its hipster Soul people mover. Meet the Denim Edition, the first in what is anticipated to be a long line of special edition Souls. The variant is based on the Soul + model, so it comes pretty well equipped in standard form. Air conditioning, power locks and windows, multiple cabin storage spaces, and a 60/40 folding rear seat all are featured on the model.

The rumor that Hyundai is going to move Santa Fe production from its Montgomery plant to the new Kia plant under construction near West Point, Ga., gets a new life every year or so. It is a rumor that Hyundai officials won't kill, but nobody is willing to confirm it yet. That is likely because it is still something the company is considering, but not something it has committed to doing.

Kia couldn’t have made its sporting intentions any clearer at the New York International Auto Show this year, as the Forte Koup not only introduces the brand’s first-ever coupe model, a two-door version of the Forte compact sedan previously shown at the Chicago Auto Show in February, but also points Kia into the front-wheel drive sporty car category in comparison to sister company Hyundai’s much more aggressively configured rear-drive Genesis Coupe.

April 14, 2009: Kenya should be a country poised for success. With its strategic location, position as a regional economic, transport and communication hub, large manufacturing base and educated work force, the country should be a magnet to foreign investors. But investors have often cited various difficulties in establishing businesses in Kenya. These include red-tape in government offices, corruption, uncooperative and often indifferent officers, difficulties in obtaining permits and licences as well as out-dated laws and regulations which impose pointless burdens on businesses.

Kia has a bit of a penchant for spelling words with a ‘K’ , for possibly obvious reasons, so I’m going to make a suggestion to it here, consider adding ‘Konservative’ to the lexicon – at least where it relates to the estimate that it will sell just 3000 of the all-new Cerato small sedan in Australia this year.

Kia’s Soul has been fully bared – and here’s the proof! Although it’s not due to make its world debut until next month’s Paris Motor Show, spies caught the baby MPV on the road. They also snapped the stylish interior, which is barely changed from that of the concept seen at Geneva in March.

Spies have caught a sleek new sedan doing the rounds in Korea. Word is that it's codenamed VG, will be arriving in '09, and will be "closely related to" the Hyundai Azera. While there is no word on engines yet, the car is expected to be front-wheel-drive. That doesn't exactly bode well for Kia's brief of being the sporty brand -- so sayeth Hyundai -- but the car is supposed to be "near luxury" and appears to have some all right lines, even under the camo.

Along with a set of new images showing the final production Soul Kia today released the choices for the upcoming compact’s engine range. The front-wheel drive five-door will offer three engines to choose from, though it’s not yet known exactly how peppy they’ll be.
