The 2009 Lincoln MKS is new for Ford’s upscale brand, though its basic running gear links it to a large family of Ford products, including the new Volvo S80, as well as the current Ford Taurus, Ford Flex, and Volvo XC90. The 2009 Lincoln MKS's distinctive styling sets it apart from its close kin. The MKS is the first production Lincoln to use the division's new grille design, which the company previewed on the MKS and MKT auto show concept vehicles.A new 275-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6 powers the MKS.

Last month, Peta sent a letter to David Schembri, president of Smart USA, informing him that his company is contradicting itself if it considers its Smart Passion models to be environmentally friendly. The problem is not the fuel mileage or emissions, but the fact that the vehicle includes leather seats. According to PETA, leather is harmful to the environment, but more importantly to them, it requires killing cows. According to PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk, "Smart can't have it both ways: touting its cars as eco-friendly and then plastering them with toxic and Earth-degrading leather."

he large 2009 Ford Flex crossover will be followed by a version for Lincoln but not Mercury, Car and Driver has learned.
The Flex is a seven-passenger SUV that essentially takes the place of the minivan in Ford’s lineup. It will be built at the automaker’s plant in Oakville, Ontario, for sale next summer.
The initial expectation was that product-starved Mercury would get a version, but it is the luxury Lincoln brand that will get an as-yet-unnamed model, Ford CEO Alan Mulally confirms to us exclusively at an event in Dearborn.

In just two months time, the buildings and grounds of the Kruse International Auction site in Auburn, Indiana, went from a scene of thousands of cars and people to a few hundred of each.
The annual end-of-the-season auction here attracted a few interesting vehicles and very few onlookers as things got under way the first Friday in November.
