Arguments have been known to get out of hand, but even Wichita police were surprised at the extremes a woman allegedly went to while displaying her anger early Sunday. By the time a 21-year-old woman was taken into custody, several cars had been struck in multiple locations, the apartment where she lived had been rammed three times, and four people were injured, police said. "This is pretty unusual," Lt. Duffy Doyle said. "This is pretty intense."

Roger Penske says he is contemplating a bid for the Saturn automotive brand that General Motors Corp. plans to sell or shut down. While Penske has not yet made an offer, he said Friday a decision would have to come soon and that a number of unidentified details need to be worked out. Penske has a vested interest in the automotive industry. He owns the second-largest U.S. automobile retail chain in terms of sales, Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based Penske Automotive Group Inc. He also owns heavy-duty engine manufacturer Detroit Diesel and has race teams in the IndyCar, NASCAR and Grand-Am series.

The Saturn Sky is a two-passenger roadster that was introduced in 2006. Lightweight and peppy, the rear-wheel drive Sky provides an exciting ride and a stunning, unique design. The angular, edgy design gives the Sky a look very similar to the king of performance cars, the Corvette. The performance-tuned Sky Red Line increases performance courtesy of a turbocharged, direct-injected four-cylinder capable of 260 horsepower. The Saturn Sky comes with a five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and gets an estimated 24-28 mpg on the highway.

General Motors Corp.'s Saturn brand will either be sold or phased out by the end of this year, nearly two years faster than previously announced, the brand's top executive said Tuesday. Saturn General Manager Jill Lajdziak said the brand, once billed as a different kind of car company, most likely will be sold, given the interest of several buyers who have surfaced. She says GM will take other bids for the brand until June 1. GM has said it wants to sell or get rid of Saturn, Hummer and Saab as it restructures, so it can once again become profitable.

Kat Koonce loves her Saturns. She owns three, and has pictures of them on Saturnfans.com, where she is one of almost 2,500 Saturn devotees who've posted photo albums of their vehicles. Judy Pearson shows off a photo album of her Saturn Sky roadster the way a grandmother might show off one of her grandchildren -- pictures of vacations and happy times together.

Saturn’s slogan is now “Rethink”, but it’s beginning to look like the GM-owned automaker is taking that sentiment in a completely different direction. After making an effort to rebrand the Saturn line and produce a variety of attractive vehicles, General Motors might pull the plug on the 23-year-old auto line.

It's almost time for a second-generation Aura. The Opel Vectra on which it's based gets a major update next year for 2009, but Saturn will continue to build the current model in Spring Hill, Tennessee, for a few years. For 2009 or 2010, Germany will send over an Aura wagon.
