Volkswagen may be the newest addition to the Chandler 202 Auto Park, the center’s developer said. The announcement was tempered with the news that the Lund Group may not fully follow through on plans to open a Hummer, Saab and Cadillac dealership, according to a project broker. Both announcements come as the auto mall’s fourth dealership, a Subaru, nears completion with plans to open in early November. Marty De Rito, whose firm developed Chandler 202 in tandem with Kimco Development, said the sales of dealers at Chandler 202 remain strong relative to other dealers in the industry.

There are just some automotive rivalries that are legendary: Camaro versus Mustang, Corvette versus Viper, and now - in Canada for the first time - Impreza STi versus Evolution. The rally-inspired Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, the redesigned 2008 STi's closest competitor, is a longtime nemesis on the time sheets of the World Rally Championship, in the gamer world, and even at Canada's own Targa Newfoundland this year. Mitsu even brought in representatives from Japan to monitor the racing progress of both the Evo and its professional drivers, to combat the powerful Subaru team at the event.

It seems almost impossible for a manufacturer to keep a new model under wraps these days, but who are we to complain? Forget the May 20th scheduled debut, Subaru’s Legacy Touring Wagon has been almost completely revealed thanks to a Japanese magazine and the power of the intertubes. We bought you the official teaser image not that long ago but these new images pretty much give the game away completely.

The last model of Subaru STISubaru STI was impressive, now the new 2009 Subaru STI is even better it is a hatchback designed car that weighs lighter than a sedan then it has a turbocharged 296-hp SUBARU BOXER® engine and 300 lb-ft of torque , just like EVO this Subaru STI is made to be in the race track. With an 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, a Brembo® braking system and SI-DRIVE, and a price just below Lancer Evolutions this car is probably the smartest option to buy in its category.

News yesterday that Brisbane parking meters will soon feature an SMS function allowing them to call for help when under attack by vandals came too late for a row of meters in West End this morning, after they were mowed down by a high-powered sports car. Brisbane City Council workers at the scene of the crash told brisbanetimes.com.au they believed a Subaru Impreza, "screaming" down Montague Road near Davies Park, had driven down the wrong side of the road, ploughed through a road barrier and a series of parking meters, as well as flattening a public phone booth nearby.

Ken Block/Alex Gelsomino (Subaru Impreza WRX) have once again proved that they are the masters of the roads in New York's Catskill Mountains. The two Californians won Rally New York USA for the second year in a row. The Subaru Rally Team USA duo took the lead on the first of 23 special stages and were never overtaken. Their lead when they reached the finish line in Walton, New York was over a minute. The weather in the Catskills was hardly Spring-like, whatever the calendar may have said. Friday's leg featured cool weather and light to moderate rain. Saturday's leg had near-freezing temperatures, with alternating light rain and snow flurries.

Well it looks like Subaru won't be giving us a glimpse of its highly anticipated Toyota co-developed RWD compact coupe the Detroit auto show in January. Instead, the Japanese carmaker will perform the global debut of the Legacy Concept that showcases the styling direction of the next generation Legacy sedan that is expected to arrive in U.S.

The picture at right was taken a just a day after the rally legend was killed in a tragic helicopter crash near his home in Lanarkshire. Without prompting, rally fans from across the UK drove to Scotland to hold a memorial in the McRaes' hometown, which quickly filled up with Subarus, most of them WR blue.
